Federico Auditore da Firenze (1456-29 December 1476) was the eldest Auditore child of Giovanni Auditore da Firenze and was a member of the Assassins Order and Medici bank. He was killed by the Pazzi family in revenge for beating on their son.
Biography[]
Federico Auditore was Ezio Auditore da Firenze's older brother, and the eldest Auditore. Federico entered the Medici bank as a clerk when he was 19. However, the bank logs indicated that he was mostly lazy rather than actually working. On 17 September 1475, a bag of gold florins went missing, and revealed to Francesco Sassetti that the bag was hidden on the roof. If he had not been the son of Giovanni Auditore, he would have been put in the stocks. He was removed from the bank's payroll shortly after his 20th birthday.
Death[]
In 1476, the corrupt Gonfaloniere Uberto Alberti charged Giovanni Auditore with treason and named his sons as conspirators, and he had them taken from their palazzo by the Florentine Guard. They were held at the Palazzo della Signoria for a day, and they were taken to the square in front of the palazzo, where they were sentenced to death by Alberti. Ezio Auditore failed to prevent Alberti from hanging Giovanni, Federico, and Federico's young brother Petruccio, but he would later avenge their deaths by assassinating their killers.
