Falujah Horan Brigade fighters before the Southern Storm offensive
The Falujah Horan Brigade was formed during the Syrian Civil War by secular rebels of the Free Syrian Army's FSA Southern Front, which fought against the Syrian Arab Army regime forces in Daraa Governorate and Quneitra Governorate. In September 2015, their leader Zakariya Aboud led them in the Operation Southern Storm offensive in Daraa, and although Aboud was killed in the battle, the rebels made some gains against the government. Unfortunately, the following months would see the Syrian rebels lose ground to the government as the Russian Air Force intervened to assist the government, and the Falujah Horan Brigade was among the Southern Front units that would have to face these challenges.
