Fadi Kafisha (died 31 August 2006) was a commander of the al-Aqsa Martyrs' Brigades of Palestine, loyal to Fatah.
Biography[]
Fadi Kafisha was born in Nablus, Palestine and became the leader of the Tanzim militant faction of Fatah in his home city. He was responsible for organizing many suicide bombings and attacks as well as building explosive belts for Palestinian suicide bombers. In 2004 his arm was amputated after a fight with Israeli soldiers, and he was given an artificial arm from Germany by his contact from Lebanon, Kais Ubaid. Nablus turned into the "terror capital of the West Bank" thanks to him, and on 17 July 2006 a suicide attack killed an Israeli soldier and wounded six others.
On 31 August 2006, the Kfir Brigade Israeli 93rd Battalion ambushed him without knowing who he was. He was killed, and only later did the Israelis find out that he was the most-wanted man in the West Bank.
