
Ewa Kopacz (born 3 December 1956) was the Prime Minister of Poland from 22 September 2014 to 16 November 2015, succeeding Donald Tusk and preceding Beata Szydlo. She was a member of the liberal Civic Platform party.
Biography[]
Ewa Kopacz was born in Skaryszew, Poland in 1956. Elected as a deputy of the Sejm in 2001, she was reelected many times and in 2009 she became famous due to her requests for pharmaceutical companies to buy swine flu vaccines - she was a former pediatrician and general practicioner. Kopacz was made the new Prime Minister of Poland on 22 September 2014 to succeed Donald Tusk. She was the second woman to hold the title, the first being Hanna Suchocka, and she became known as one of the leaders of the European Union during her time in office. In 2015, she lost the elections, and Kopacz and her government resigned according to the constitution.
