The Evangelical Presbyterian Church (EPC) is an American Presbyterian and evangelical Protestant denomination which was founded in 1981 by conservative pastors and elders alienated by the growing liberal tendencies of the northern branch of Presbyterianism. The EPC pursues a moderate course, as it leaves the decision to ordain of women to local ordaining bodies; it is more conservative than the Presbyterian Church USA and more liberal than the Presbyterian Church in America.
