The European Parliament is the directly elected parliament of the European Union, elected every five years (since 1979). The party has 751 members from all of the EU's member states, coming from numerous "parties" that represent the major political ideologies of the continent. The EP focuses on passing and amending legislation, and it also decides on how EU money is spent.
