The Euphrates Volcano is a joint operations room consisting of Free Syrian Army and YPG forces, formed on 12 September 2014 to expel the Islamic State from Aleppo Governorate and al-Raqqah Governorate. The operations room was united in its opposition to ISIS while not being explicitly anti-regime, and the Euphrates Volcano would be one of the founding groups of the Syrian Democratic Forces.
