
Yevgeny Semyonovich "Eugene" Vindman (6 June 1975-) was a US Army colonel and a member of the US House of Representatives (D-VA 7) from 3 January 2025, succeeding Abigail Spanberger.
Biography[]
Yevgeny Semyonovich Vindman was born in Kyiv, Ukrainian SSR, Soviet Union in 1975, the identical twin brother of Alexander Vindman. He was raised din New York City from the age of three, and he joined the US Army in 1998 and rose to the rank of colonel, serving in the Iraq War and in the Judge Advocate General (JAG) Corps. He also served on the National Security Council from 2018 to 2020, and he received the report of Donald Trump's threatening phone call to Ukrainian president Volodymyr Zelensky from his brother in October 2019 before reporting the call to senior White House lawyers, resulting in a charge of abuse of power in the impeachment of Donald Trump. He and his brother were suspiciously fired shortly after their testimony, and Vindman went on to be elected to the US House of Representatives in 2024 as a Democrat.
