Etienne de La Valle Poussin

Etienne de La Valle Poussin (1735-1802) was a French painter. Born in Rouen, Normandy in 1735, Poussin won the 1757 Prix de Rome art scholarship and spent many years in Rome, Italy. Poussin accompanied the French Army of Napoleon Bonaparte when it invaded Egypt in 1798, assisting in the acquisition of new technologies. He died in 1802 at the age of 67.
