Etelgis (born 350) was a chief of the Saxons.
Biography[]
Etelgis was the second son of Gelder, the king of the Saxons of Denmark and Sweden. Upon coming of age in 366, Etelgis became an unlucky leader with no skills at all. However, he participated in the invasion of the Western Roman Empire's province of Britannia, and he secured the city of Eburacum (York) in 372 AD. He was responsible for the quelling of multiple Romano-British attacks on Eburacum under Cadeyrn Wledic.
