Essex Q. Tait (1867-1898) was an American white supremacist militiaman who was affiliated with the Louisiana Raiders during the 1890s. In 1898, he and several other Raiders were shot dead by the Arizona Kid while trying to ambush a caravan he was escorting from Rhodes to Braithwaite Manor.
