The Escape from Lisnagaul occurred on 26 September 1642 when the Irish Confederate guerrilla leader Seamus Hennessey escaped from Parliamentarian captivity in County Tipperary the day after his defeat and capture at the Battle of Rossadrehid.

Hennessey, once the commander of over 50 Irish Catholic irregulars, nearly met his end at Rossadrehid, where a much larger force of Parliamentarian cavalry surrounded and destroyed his party north of Cork. Hennessey was knocked unconscious and taken prisoner, but he managed to escape later that same day. On his way north to Tipperary, he was intercepted by a patrol of 14 Parliamentarian cavalry. While Hennessey attempted to dodge their bullets and fight his way through them, he only wounded one Parliamentarian soldier before he was felled from his horse by a pike. Once again taken prisoner, Hennessey endured another day in captivity before making his escape to Tipperary and gradually assembling a new party.
