
Ersan Cevik (1765-25 July 1799) was a commander of the Ottoman Empire during the French Revolutionary Wars.
Biography[]
Ersan Cevik was born in Mersin on the Mediterranean coast of southern Turkey in 1765, and he became the commander of a regiment of Nizam-i Cedit infantry on the island of Rhodes. In 1799, the regiment was shipped out to Egypt. and Cevik and many of his men were killed at the Battle of Abukir.
