Erran-kun

Erran-kun (1969-) was a resident of Dotonbori, Osaka, Japan during the 1980s. He acquired his nickname from Emiri Okazaki, a girl he was trying to impress, who had him run errands for her; he did so with the hope that he would win her affection. On 15 December 1988, he bumped into Goro Majima several times as he was running to grab the girl some lip balm from the convenience store, and he complained of how his feet were hurting. Later, Majima found him sitting in front of a convenience store, having fallen due to his sore feet, but Majima gave him medicine and advised him not to let himself be taken advantage of. Nonetheless, Erran-kun ran into the store and purchased lip balm and began to run back to the girl with her balm. Majima would later give Erran-kun a new pair of shoes after his shoes had worn out, but, on 17 December 1988, he again found Erran sitting outside the M-Store with his feet aching, and Erran asked him to bring absorbent tissues to Emi-chan at the footpath along the Dotonbori canal. He later ran there to check up on Majima, only to find that Emi-chan had left. Majima told Erran-kun that Emi-chan was in a relationship with Tomo-kun and was taking advantage of Erran-kun; Erran-kun told Majima that he had previously seen the two together, and was in need of sa reality check. He then thanked Majima for his help, and offered to run him errands out of gratitude.
