
Ernst-Eberhard Hell (19 September 1887 – 15 September 1973) was a General der Artillerie of Nazi Germany during World War II.
Biography[]
Ernst-Eberhard Hell was born on 19 September 1887 in Stade, Lower Saxony, German Empire. He entered the Imperial German Army in 1906 and served in World War I, and he remained in the Reichswehr after the war. During World War II, Hell commanded Wehrmacht divisions during the battle of France and Operation Barbarossa, and he was later given command of the VII Armeekorps. In August 1944, he was captured by the Soviet Red Army during the Jassy-Kishinev Offensive, and he remained in a Soviet POW camp until 1955. He died in Wiesbaden, Bavaria in 1973.
