Ernesto da Silva, 6th Viscount of Silva (1815—1887) was a Portuguese naval officer and nobleman who commanded the Portuguese Navy during the late 19th century. A resolute and capable admiral, he was appointed in 1879 to replace Pedro de Noronha as the navy chief. He oversaw continued Portuguese expansion in Africa and was replaced in 1881 by Admiral Urbano Figueira. Upon Figueira's death in 1883, Silva once again took up the post of Portuguese Royal Navy commander-in-chief in the interim until the appointment of David Silveira.
