Ernesto Ibarra

Ernesto Ibarra (died 2000) was a Mexican civil servant. He was once in charge of the Public Prosecutor's Office in Mexico City as a district attorney, and he prosecuted the Tijuana Cartel leaders Benjamin and Ramon Arellano Felix. In 2000, as Ibarra was driven to work, a yellow Hummer blocked the road, and Ramon Arellano Felix exited the car and shot the driver dead with a handgun. He then opened the rear passenger door and told Ibarra, "This is what happens when you open your mouth, Mr. District Attorney", and he proceeded to shoot him in the head. He was the fourth public servant to be killed by the Tijuana Cartel, which embarked on a spree of anti-government killings.
