Erich Soders (1957 - 13 February 2020) was a Danish assassin under the ICA and one of the greatest agents in the history of the organization. He eventually rose to become a member of the Board, and was secretly hired by the cabal known as Providence to have an insider in the ICA.

Soders personally commissioned the deaths of Lucas Grey's Private Militia members Sean Rose, Penelope Graves, Ezra Berg, and Maya Parvati by Agent 47's hands in the Colorado operation. 47 found out that Soders was a Providence agent through extensive searching in the tornado shelter of the farmhouse. Soon after this, Soders reached a deal with Providence that he would receive a new heart in exchange for a dossier on every active ICA agent.

Soders was flown to the GAMA facility in Hokkaido, Japan to be administered a new heart, but was killed with the machine's robot arms by Dr. Nicholas Laurent after 47 uploaded Soders' contracts to Laurent's personal computer.

Biography[]

Early life[]

Not much is known of Erich Soders' early life, other than his Danish origin and the fact that he joined the ICA as an agent. Soders was born with a condition known as situs inversus, where his internal organs would be positioned on the opposite side of where they were supposed to be. He would quickly become one of the best ICA agents during the Cold War, working for both sides of the Iron Curtain. He would kill Roman Laurent in 1972, staging his death as a hanging.

The peak of his career would be the assassination of Jasper Knight, an American chess master turned KGB spy that killed the Soviet ambassador to the US. Soders killed him by disguising himself as a mechanic and activating the ejector seat mechanism; soon after, he guided the spy through the provided safety protocol and indirectly launched Knight hundreds of feet up in the air, almost instantly killing him on impact.

Training Director[]

This killing would gain him much renown, and he would eventually retire from the field, thanks to heart issues. Soon after his retirement, Soders became the training director of the ICA's hidden mountain facility in Greenland. He trained dozens of agents, before eventually meeting the soon-to-be Agent 47. Soders despised the man, secretly jealous of his startling superhuman capabilities and lack of conscience, and was relatively hostile towards him.

After witnessing him easily accomplish the recreation of the assassination of Kalvin Ritter, Soders made his final test a creation of his assassination of Jasper Knight, including additional guards. He was baffled when 47 and Diana Burnwood, his handler, beat the training director at his own game. Soders begrudgingly anointed 47 as an agent of the ICA, sending him away from the facility.

Providence[]

At some point, Soders was elected to join the Board of Directors, serving as one of the ICA's leaders. Soon after, in 2019, the plutocratic cabal known as Providence learned that Soders' heart was dying. They reached a deal to work for them in eliminating Lucas Grey's Private Militia and a full list of every active ICA agent, all in exchange for a new heart. Soders contracted hits on four of Grey's Colorado cell lieutenants; Sean Rose, Penelope Graves, Maya Parvati, and Ezra Berg. Agent 47 was tasked with this assignment, eventually killing the four in what was seen to be as accidents. 47 investigated the tornado shelter in the house, finding out that Soders was a member of Providence and used the ICA for his own purposes.

Death[]

47 was tasked directly by the Board to eliminate the traitor at the world-class GAMA hospital in the mountains of Hokkaido, Japan alongside Yuki Yamazaki, a former Yakuza lawyer and Providence Herald. 47 stole Soders' contract list from his room and covertly uploaded it onto head surgeon Dr. Nicholas Laurent's computer, as well as disguising himself as pilot Nails to over-prescribe Laurent his medication. Upon seeing that Soders murdered his father, Laurent was overcome with vengeance and used the remote surgical machines to brutally stab Soders to death.
