Biography[]

Eric Swalwell was born in Sac City, Iowa in 1980, and he served on the College Park, Maryland city council as its student representative. From 2001 to 2002, he worked as a congressional intern in Washington DC, and he worked as Alameda County District Attorney after graduating from law school. In 2012, he was elected to the US House of Representatives from California's 15th district, and he held liberal views. He ran for President of the United States in 2020, and he uniquely proposed to forcibly buy back assault weapons from assault weapon owners, or else they would be arrested. During a Democratic primary debate on 28 June 2019, he quoted US Senator Joe Biden's 1988 statement that it was time to pass on the torch to the younger generation, saying that it was still true; he used Biden's own quote against him, challenging the frontrunner. However, he dropped out on 8 July 2019, as he did not qualify for the second round of debates.
