Eric Kordt was a German civil servant and German Resistance member during the Interwar period. In 1938, he collaborated with General Hans Oster and translator Paul von Hartmann in a bid to overthrow Adolf Hitler's Nazi regime in the event that he ordered an invasion of Czechoslovakia and prompted war with the United Kingdom and France. However, the plot ultimately fell through, as did Hartmann's attempt to smuggle incriminating documents to the British civil servant Hugh Legat.
