Epaphroditus Champion (6 April 1756 – 22 December 1834) was a member of the US House of Representatives (F-CN) from 4 March 1807 to 3 March 1817, succeeding Theodore Dwight and preceding Ebenezer Huntington.
Biography[]
Epaphroditus Champion was born in Colchester, Connecticut in 1756, and he served as the first Commissary General of the Continental Army during the American Revolutionary War; when he took a herd of 300 cattle from Connecticut to Valley Forge, Pennsylvania, all of it was eaten in just five days. He served in the State Assembly from 1791 to 1806 and then in the US House of Representatives from 1807 to 1817, and he died in 1834.
