Enrique Marquez Jr () was an Islamic State supporter who armed Syed Rizwan Farook and Tashfeen Malik with assault rifles before the 2015 San Bernardino shooting.
Biography[]
Enrique Marquez Jr came from a family of Mexican-Americans, and he was a friend of Syed Rizwan Farook in their childhood. He converted to Islam to marry the sister of Farook's wife Tashfeen Malik, and he became an Islamic State supporter. In December 2015 he armed the two of them with assault weapons, and they killed 14 people before being killed by police in a mass shooting in San Bernardino. After the attack, Marquez checked himself into a mental health facility in Long Island, and authorities were unable to question him as a result. On 6 November, 2017 he was sentenced, then on February 26 and June 26, 2018 the sentence was postponed. On October 23, 2020 he was sentenced to 20 years in prison.
