Enepay (1877-1911) was a Lakota outlaw who was a member of Dutch's Gang during the 1900s near the end of the Wild West era.
Biography[]
Enepay was born in 1877 to the Lakota people, and he developed a hatred of the United States government and the plight of the Native Americans. He joined Dutch van der Linde's predominantly-Native gang with the goal of resisting the USA and finding a means of seizing wealth. In 1911, he lured the BOI informant Nastas and his associates John Marston and Harold MacDougal into a false parley at Bearclaw Camp, Tall Trees, where he and his two colleagues angrily confronted the trio with guns drawn. MacDougal's attempt to calm them was dismissed due to its patronizing tone, and, when Nastras attempted to intervene, Enepay shot him in the head to shut him up, killing him. Marston avenged him by shooting the three outlaws dead, leading to a massive shootout.
