Empress Arwa of the Abbasid Empire (716-) was the Empress of the Abbasid Caliphate and the wife of Caliph al-Mansur.
Biography[]
Arwa was born in 716 to the Sunni Muslim Arab Arwadids, and she was the sister of Emir Yazid of Arwadid Emirate, who was the independent ruler of Yemen. She married Caliph al-Mansur of the Abbasid Caliphate, forming an alliance between the Abbasids and Arwadid Emirate, and she was always his first wife.
