Emir Yu'fir of Yufirid Emirate (815-) was an Emir of the Yufirid Emirate from 847 to 872, preceding Emir Muhammad of Yufirid Emirate.
Biography[]
Yu'fir bin Abd ar-Rahman al-Hiwali al-Himyari was the first emir of the Yufirid Emirate, and was the son of Sheikh Abd ar-Rahman of Kathiri. He was a Sunni Muslim Bedouin, and he became the first emir of the Yufirid Emirate in 847. In 872 he left the affairs of state to Muhammad, his son, but in 892 he assassinated his son for his grandson Ibrahim, who took power. The Yufirid Emirate descended into anarchy and chaos soon after.
