Emir Abd al-Kadir of Addauid Emirate (750-15 January 770) was the last Emir of the Addauid Emirate from 14 March 769 to 15 January 770, succeeding Emir Hasan of Addauid Emirate. He succeeded his father when he was killed at the battle of Tzamandos with the Byzantine Empire, and he would himself be killed in battle in January 770.
Biography[]
Abd al-Kadir was born in 750, the son of Emir Hasan of Addauid Emirate. He succeeded his father as Emir of the Addauid Emirate on his death in battle on 14 March 769 at the Battle of Tzamandos, being only nineteen years old when he came to rule the emirate. Abd al-Kadir had to fight against the Byzantine Empire, whose ruler Constantine V of Byzantium intended to reconquer Anatolia, and he was killed in battle at Koloneia on 15 January 770 in a decisive defeat for the Addauids. His death without children led to the end of the Addauid Emirate and the creation of the Subaid Emirate under Emir Yazid of Subaid Emirate.
