
Emilio Gamboa Patron (born 23 August 1950) was a Mexican PRI Senator from 2000 to 2006 and from 2012 to 2018, and a Deputy from 2006 to 2009.
Biography[]
Emilio Gamboa Patron was born in Mexico City, Mexico in 1950, and he joined the PRI in 1972 and worked in public administration positions for 30 years and played a key role in Miguel de la Madrid's selection of Carlos Salinas de Gortari as his successor. He went on to serve as Director General of the Institute of the National Housing Fund for Workers from 1988 to 1991, General Director of the Mexican Institute of Social Security from 1991 to 1993, Secretary of Communications and Transportation from 1993 to 1994, Director General of the National Lottery for Public Assistance from 1994 to 1995, in the Senate from 2000 to 2006, in the Chamber of Deputies from 2006 to 2009, and back in the Senate from 2012 to 2018. He served as the PRI's Senate coordinator from 2012 to 2015.
