Emil Karl Otto Steinach (1914-1946) was a German SS Officer during World War II.
Biography[]
Steinach was born in 1914 in Munich, Bavaria. He joined the Nazi Party in 1933, and also he joined the SS. During World War II, he commanded a Waffen SS commando. Steinach is more famous for being the Gestapo officer who killed Roger Bushell, the man behind the Great Escape, and prisioner of Stalag Luft III. Steinach was captured after the war and hanged for his crimes.
