Emeric Etcheverry (1777-1844) was a general of France.
Biography[]
Emeric Etcheverry was born in Lucerne, Switzerland, in 1777. He joined the Swiss Foot regiments of the French Army in 1797 at the age of twenty and was one of the Swiss troops fighting on the Rhineland frontier with Germany in 1797-1800. In 1806 he was made the Colonel of a regiment of Swiss Foot.
During the Defense of France (1814), Etcheverry's regiment fought at the Battle of Denain. Etcheverry died in Les Invalides in 1844.
