Emerald Ranch was a large cattle ranch and settlement in Le Flore County, Oklahoma, located 23 miles west of the Arkansas state line and 50 miles north of the Louisiana state line. Emerald Ranch became a major hub of civilization in rural eastern Oklahoma, helped by the construction of a railroad line which ensured Emerald Ranch's dominance in livestock trading. By the 1890s, Emerald Ranch was home to an old saloon, a defunct general store, and a small local population.
