Elpenor (died 1183 BC) was an Ithacan Greek warrior who served under Odysseus during the Trojan War and the Odyssey of the 12th century BC. He was the youngest comrade of Odysseus, and he became drunk while on Circe's island (Corsica) and climbed onto the roof of Circe's palace to sleep. The next morning, upon hearing that his comrades were preparing to travel to Hades, Elpenor forgot he was on the roof and fell, breaking his neck.
