
Elmahdi Halili (born 1995) was a Moroccan-Italian Islamic State propagandist.
Biography[]
Elmahdi Halili was born in Morocco in 1995, and his family later moved to Italy. His family settled in Turin, Piedmont, and Halili became a radical Islamist after being indoctrinated online. Halili published the first Italian-language piece of Islamic State propaganda, and he was imprisoned from 2015 to 2017 for his extremism. On 28 March 2018, he was rearrested for planning knife and truck attacks and for attempting to recruit terrorist attackers. On 28 June 2019,he was sentenced to 6 years in prison.
