Ellis Robinson (died 27 February 1968) was a member of the Black Mob of New Orleans and the son of crime boss Sammy Robinson. The two of them would be murdered by the Marcano crime family on 27 February 1968 during the attempted destruction of the Black Mob.
Biography[]
Ellis Robinson was the son of Sammy Robinson, the boss of the Black Mob of New Orleans, and his wife Perla. Robinson was raised with Lincoln Clay, an orphan who was taken in by his father in 1958; Ellis and Lincoln became foster brothers. Ellis became involved in the Black Mob while Clay was fighting in the Vietnam War, and Robinson received a proposal to enter the drug trade from his friend, Marcano crime family underboss Giorgi Marcano. However, Sammy Robinson told his son that this was forbidden, as it went against his code of honor.

Ellis would help Giorgi Marcano, Lincoln Clay, and Danny Burke in robbing the Federal Reserve Bank of New Orleans on Mardi Gras (27 February), 1968 to help dig the Black Mob out of debt, and the group of robbers headed back to Sammy Robinson's bar to celebrate. There, they were joined by Don Sal Marcano and Ritchie Doucet, who came to collect Marcano's share of the heist. They began to have a celebration, but the Marcanos signalled each other to begin the massacre of the Black Mob. Lincoln clay was shot in the head by Giorgi Marcano, knocking him out, but not killing him. Robinson was stabbed several times by Doucet, his father was shot by Sal Marcano, and Danny Burke was killed by Giorgi. The bar was then burned down, ending the Black Mob.
