Elliot S.N. Morgan (1832-24 April 1894) was the Republican Governor of the Wyoming Territory from 13 January to 28 February 1885 (succeeding William Hale and preceding Francis E. Warren) and from 20 December 1886 to 24 January 1887 (succeeding George W. Baxter and preceding Thomas Moonlight).
Biography[]
Elliot S.N. Morgan was born in Pittsburgh, Pennsylvania in 1832, and he worked in his father's store before being elected to the State House in 1873 as a Republican. After the death of acting Governor of the Wyoming Territory William Hale died in office in 1885, Morgan was appointed acting governor, serving for 46 days before Francis E. Warren was chosen as the new governor. Morgan also served as acting governor from 1886 to 1887, and he died in Cheyenne in 1894.
