Elizabeth Warren (22 June 1949-) was a member of the US Senate from Massachusetts (D) from 3 January 2013, succeeding Scott Brown. Warren was a notable leader of the progressive faction of the Democratic Party alongside Bernie Sanders, and she was a leading critic of President Donald Trump after 2016.

Elizabeth Herring was born in Oklahoma City, Oklahoma on 22 June 1949, and she attended George Washington University, the University of Houston, Rutgers University - Newark. Warren worked as a law teacher from the 1970s to the 1990s, and she was a Republican Party voter for much of her early life, believing that the Republicans were the people who best supported the markets. However, she switched to the Democratic Party in 1995 because she no longer believed that to be true, and she began to work with governmental commissions on the economy. She was an active consumer protection advocate, establishing the Consumer Financial Protection Bureau, and she headed it from 2010 to 2011. In 2012, she was elected to the US Senate from Massachusetts, and she became a popular figure among progressives and a major leader of the Democratic Party. During the 2010s, she refused to run for the presidency, but she became a leading opponent of President Donald Trump's administration, and she decided to run for President in 2020. Warren supported "Medicare for All" while self-identifying as a capitalist, and she was one of the eight frontrunners in a race of 20 candidates. On 5 March 2020, she ended her presidential campaign after disappointing Super Tuesday results; she placed third in her own home state of Massachusetts.
