Elie Honig

Elie Honig (born 4 March 1975) was the Assistant US Attorney for the Southern District of New York from 2004 to 2012 and the Assistant Attorney General from 2012 to 2018.

Biography[]

Elie Honig was born in Camden, New Jersey in 1975 and raised in Voorhees and Cherry Hill, the son of a lawyer and a social worker, and the grandson of Polish-Jewish Holocaust survivors. In 2000, he became an associate for Covington & Burling LLP and became Assistant US Attorney for the Southern District of New York in April 2004. He took down 100 mobsters as a federal prosecutor, and he was promoted to Assistant Attorney General in 2012 and continued fighting the Mafia until 2018. In October 2018, he became a CNN legal analyst.
