Elias Warner Leavenworth (20 December 1803 – 25 November 1887) was a member of the US House of Representatives (R-NY 25) from 4 March 1875 to 3 March 1877, succeeding Clinton D. MacDougall and preceding Frank Hiscock.

Biography[]

Elias Warner Leavenworth was born in Canaan, New York in 1803, and he was raised in Great Barrington, Massachusetts before practicing law in Syracuse, New York. He became supervisor of Salina in 1839, served as Mayor of Syracuse from 1839 to 1841, 1846 to 1847, from 1849 to 1850, and from 1859 to 1860, served in the State Assembly in 1850 and 1857 as a Whig, served as Secretary of State of New York from 1854 to 1855, and served in the US House of Representatives from 1875 to 1877. He died in 1887.
