
Eldred Simkins (30 August 1779-17 November 1831) was a member of the US House of Representatives (DR-SC 6) from 24 January 1818 to 3 March 1821, succeeding John C. Calhoun and preceding George McDuffie.
Biography[]
Eldred Simkins was born in Edgefield, South Carolina in 1779, and he became a lawyer in 1806 and served in the state legislature, as Lieutenant Governor from 1812 to 1814, and in the US House of Representatives from 1818 to 1821. He died in 1831.
