Eldred Davis Steeley (1857-1898) was an American US Marshal who was active in the Arizona Territory during the Wild West era. In 1898, he was sent to Tumbleweed to hunt down the Arizona Kid after he shot the lawman Alonzo Y. Hartley in town, but Arizona shot him with a shotgun as Steeley took cover behind the gunsmith. Arizona then fled town to prevent a full-out gunfight with the law.
