Elan Journo (born January 1976) was an Israeli-American libertarian writer, academic, and journalist.
Biography[]
Elan Journo was born in Jerusalem, Israel in January 1976, and he grew up in the United Kingdom. He studied at King's College London from 1994 to 1997, and he later moved to Irvine, California. He joined the Ayn Rand Institute in 1999, becoming a core-courses instructor at the Institute's Objectivist Academic Center in 2005, and an essayist about American foreign policy. Journo believed in the "virtue of selfishness", arguing that people should pursue their own happiness without showing consideration for others. He also believed that selfishness meant working hard for one's goals, revising the definition, which entails excessive self-interest and being inconsiderate.
