
Ela Collins (14 February 1786-23 November 1848) was a member of the US House of Representatives (DR-NY 20) from 4 March 1823 to 3 March 1825, succeeding David Woodcock and William B. Rochester and preceding Egbert Ten Eyck and Nicoll Fosdick. Born in Meriden, Connecticut, he practiced law in Lowville before serving in the State Assembly from 1814 to 1815, as a district attorney from 1815 to 1840, in Congress, and in local politics.
