El Metrico was a Sinaloa Cartel enforcer, given the nickname "El Metrico" for snorting cocaine lines at least a meter long. El Metrico befriended El Chapo's son Edgar Guzman Lopez and Edgar's friend Arturo Meza Cazares in 2008, meeting them at a coca farm. El Metrico would later be sent to assassinate Arturo Beltran Leyva in Culiacan, Sinaloa, but his hit squad mistook Guzman and Meza's red SUV for Beltran Leyva's car, and they killed the two boys. El Metrico recognized the victims, filling him with sadness and regret for the fatal internal error.
