
Ejup Ganic (3 March 1946-) was President of the Federation of Bosnia and Herzegovina from 29 December 1997 to 1 January 1999 (succeeding Vladimir Soljic and preceding Ivo Andric-Luzanski) and from 1 January 2000 to 1 January 2001 (interrupting Andric-Luzanski's two terms). He was a member of the Party of Democratic Action.
Biography[]
Ejup Ganic was born in Novi Pazar, SR Serbia, Yugoslavia in 1946, and he founded the Sarajevo School of Science and Technology and became a regular professor of engineering science at the school. During the Bosnian War, he was a member of the Presidency of Bosnia and Herzegovina, and he was a member of the conservative Party of Democratic Action. From 1997 to 1999 and from 2000 to 2001, he served as President of the Federation of Bosnia and Herzegovina, and he supported Serbs more than Croats, as he believed that Bosniaks were just Islamized Serbs.
