
Egon Ramms (21 September 1948-) was a General of the Bundeswehr of Germany during the Afghanistan War.
Biography[]
Egon Ramms was born on 21 September 1948 in Datteln, North Rhine-Westphalia, West Germany. He joined the Bundeswehr in 1968 and specialized in tank engineering, and in 1990 he entered the Ministry of Defense of a unified Germany. Ramms was given command of the Allied Joint Force Command Brunssum as his last assignment, being given complete control over NATO forces in Central Europe, Northern Europe, and Afghanistan at the time of the Afghanistan War. He resigned from the military in 2010.
