Biography[]
Edward Young Clarke was born in Atlanta, Georgia in 1877, and he joined the Ku Klux Klan in the early 20th century and, as Imperial Wizard from 1915 to 1922, he and Mary Elizabeth Tyler transformed the Klan into a mass-membership organization with a broader social agenda. He also served as President of Monarch Publishing.
