Edward White Robertson

Edward White Robertson (13 June 1823-2 August 1887) was a member of the US House of Representatives (D-LA 6) from 4 March 1877 to 3 March 1883 (succeeding Charles E. Nash and preceding Edward Taylor Lewis) and from 4 March to 2 August 1887 (succeeding Alfred Briggs Irion and preceding Samuel M. Robertson).

Biography[]

Edward White Robertson was born in Nashville, Tennessee in 1823, and he moved to Iberville Parish, Louisiana in 1825 and practiced law. He served in the Mexican-American War, as a state representative from 1847 to 1849, as state auditor of public accounts from 1857 to 1862, in the Confederate States Army's 27th Louisiana Infantry Regiment during the American Civil War, and in the US House of Representatives from 1877 to 1883 and in 1887, when he died in office.
