Edward Pettersson (1777-1849) was a colonel of Sweden.
Biography[]
Edward Pettersson was born in Stockholm, Sweden in 1777. In 1805 he enlisted in the army at the age of 28 and became a sergeant. He later became a colonel after fighting France in the Napoleonic Wars, and he led his regiment in Prince Charles John's invasion of Belgium and northern France. During the Battle of Denain on 10 February 1814 his regiment suffered heavy casualties. Pettersson retired after the war's end in April and died in Stockholm in 1849.
