Edward McGowvray

Edward McGowvray (1899-1962) was an American farmer from Owosso, Michigan. The son of Rufus McGowvray, he was raised in a populist Republican household that supported the Bull Moose Party during the 1910s. McGowvray remained loyal to the GOP during the progressive revolt of 1924, but he briefly defected to the Democrats in the 1930s to support their farming bills. He returned to the Republicans after Franklin D. Roosevelt opted to run for a third term. McGowvray fathered four children, including Scott McGowvray.
