Edward H. Funston

Edward Hogue Funston (16 September 1836-10 September 1911) was a member of the US House of Representatives (R-KS 2) from 21 March 1884 to 2 August 1894, succeeding Dudley C. Haskell and preceding Horace L. Moore.

Biography[]

Edward Hogue Funston was born in New Carlisle, Ohio in 1836, and he served as a Union Army artillery lieutenant during the American Civil War. After the war, he moved to a farm in Carlyle, Kansas, and he served in the state house from 1873 to 1876, in the state senate from 1880 to 1884, and in the US House of Representatives from 1884 to 1894. He retired to his Iola farm, where he died in 1911.
