Eduardo Vergara (13 July 1979-) was a Chilean PPD politician who served as Undersecretary for Crime Prevention from 11 March 2022, succeeding Maria Jose Gomez.
Biography[]
Eduardo Vergara Bolbaran was born in Rancagua, Chile in 1979, and he worked as a political scientist and as national coordinator of the División de Prevención y Seguridad en Eventos Masivos under President Michelle Bachelet before serving as President Gabriel Boric's Undersecretary for Crime Prevention. Chile experienced a wave of violent crime under the socialist government.
